Healthcare Professional/ Volunteer Sports Physical Registration
Overview Page
Thank you for expressing interest in assisting with sports physicals. The VHSL requires that each student-athlete participating in sports have a sport physical after May 1st preceding the school year. This is an excellent opportunity for student-athletes to receive a quality sports physical at a reasonable price. It also helps the student-athlete's high school receive much needed donations to help support their Athletic Training programs. These sports physicals are not intended to replace an annual wellness exam provided by the student-athlete's family physician. Responsibilities during the sports physicals will be determined by the need and your expertise.
-
MD's, DO's, NP's and PA's would perform medical evaluations and final physical approval or referral for further evaluation.
-
DC's, Nurses, EMT's, PT's, AT's would most likely assist with blood pressure, heart rate, height/weight, vision screening and postural/functional screening.
-
Non-medically credentialed volunteers (Parents, Teachers, Students) would assist with administration, check-in, check-out and concessions.
Food/drinks will be provided prior to the start of the sport physicals. We encourage all the student-athletes to have their parent or guardian with them during the physical but please keep in mind that they may not always be on-site with them. You will receive an e-mail confirmation along with more specific information after completing the registration process.
